I apologize for the gap with a July painting of the month. July ended up being a handful
of a month. However, I’M BACK with two paintings of the month for August – my take on
Georgia O’Keeffe’s “Tent Door at Night."
I saw this painting in a biography about her and was immediately struck by the apparent simplicity of it but later realizing it wasn’t so simple. Glimmers of light can be visible even in a lot of darkness; gather whatever meaning you want from that.
I decided to do a couple interpretations of that painting in cool colors and warm colors.
Check my interpretations out here:

My Paintings of the Month are discounted 20% during their featured month.
Georgia O’Keeffe was born in the Midwest but is more known for her time and love for New Mexico. She was married for a time to photography pioneer Alfred Stieglitz. I’m
fortunate that a couple of museums in my part of the world have 4 Georgia O’Keeffe works that I can see nearly any time I want. A museum of her life and work is on my
bucket list to go to someday.
